Summer NAMM 2014

For the first time, I (along with my son) went to Summer NAMM 2014 in Nashville… and it was AMAZING! It was like being in the best, coolest music store ever. I was looking for equipment for my church, but also made it over to a few luthiers and pedal makers.

My favs:

Ubermut Pedals - a really great pedal that allows you to design your own sound in one enclosure.

Henretta Engineering - the best small pedals out there today. They sound great!

King Blossom Guitars - I'm not sure how to describe these. They are very unique and great to play. The feel is awesome and the sound matches it. Jeff (the builder) was great to talk with.

Whitfill Guitars - these are mainly Tele's (which I happen to like very much); they play great; sound awesome. I played one model with P90s in it that made me giggle like a school girl. Tone that made me blush! If I'd had the money, I'd would have bought it on the spot.

If you can ever get to NAMM in Winter or Summer, GO. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I couldn't go to it for all three days.

WHAT I'VE BEEN DOING FOR THE PAST YEAR

Has been a while since posting, but haven't been still at all when it comes to building new pedals. Here is a sampling.

A vibe pedal, with mods. Pretty cool pedal from Guitar PCB.

This is based on the Love-ly pedal. I changed the transistors in it to my satisfaction. The small knobs are gain for two separate overdrives; the big knob is a blend. Some nice overdrive/fuzzy sounds.

Another favorite. (Obviously, since this one has seen some use!) It's based on the BJFe Sweet Honey. I changed a few components in it. Overall, a great pedal, and very similar to the Hunny House. Love it with my Tele and Strat.
This one also glows in the dark!

Another pedal from GuitarPCB. This one allows you to select two separate frequencies (like a cocked way sound, and to add clipping to those frequencies. Works great with bass guitar. Can also make a Big Muff sound like an Octavia. Pretty cool stuff!

A bucket brigade delay pedal. The warp mod allows you to make pedal oscillate for as long as  you want.

Based on the Bearf**t Honey Bee. Has a choice of clippers. One of my favorites.

You know the pedal. My absolute favorite pedal I've built. I've A/B'd it against the real deal. This one is a tad warmer.

This is a modified Rat with three clipping choices and a mid-frequency boost (Lube) in order to get more tonal options.

SOLD This is a modified Big Muff, with selectable buffer caps for the first two buffer stages, three different clippers, and a Tone Bender mod that takes out two of the four gain stages, which essentially makes the pedal a Tone Bender.

All of these can be made/bought/sold, so if you like something you see, contact me/leave a comment. My prices are stupid, they are so low. I love making these. Would love to make you one!
